I've always loved art. I love to draw and paint, and after taking several art classes and after massive encouragement from my family, I have taken the next step to make something out of a beloved hobby. Most of my inspiration comes from my family, and I now have two kids, Charlee and her little brother Jett. Like me, when some parents are expecting a new addition to the family, or redecorating a child's bedroom, they want that room to be personalized and special for their child. That is where my joy of painting has led me... to become a muralist.

I am very versatile... I do custom canvases in multiple sizes. And for those who live near the Des Moines, Iowa area, I can work with your children's rooms, windows, bathrooms, laundry rooms, almost any room you need.

Every child inspires. How does your child inspire you? Let me put their inspiration onto their walls...

Noah's Room

Noah has a jungle theme in his nursery. Here I painted a piece that matched his bedding. This painting is made up of 20, 5x5 paintings. There is a lot of variety to what you can do with canvas and paint. This is a fun piece of art for a fun little baby boy.

Charlee's Updated Room

Charlee has a butterfly garden room. Her walls are covered in multiple shades of pink and green. She has a customized picket fence and ribbon light covering. Her whole room is a warm place to be that she truly enjoys.

Caroline's Living Room

Although my specialty is in children's murals and paintings, I can also do some artwork for an adult audience. I painted this mural in my living room which has been a nice conversation piece.

Octopus Bathroom

My kids have an underwater bathroom. There is a large octopus painted on the wall that makes the bathroom very fun to be in.

Jillian's Room

Jill just painted her room playful pink. Everything in her room is centered around the nursery rhyme "With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, she shall have music wherever she goes." So, because of that, everything in her room is singing along with the nursery rhyme.

This is Jillian's silhouette blowing music note bubbles all through her room.

Cailey's Room

Cailey has a bedroom decorated with butterflies and dragonflies.

These paintings were made to complement the colors already in her room.

Cailey's mom found a design that she really liked and I was able to customize it to fit exactly what she wanted.

Caitilin's Room

Caitilin has a ladybug room. These three canvases are a fun way to tie the room together... From the ladybugs on her comforter and pillows to the ladybugs now on her wall.

Esme's Room

For Esme's room, she already had cute bird designed bedding. These canvases were custom made to accent Esme's sheets.

These paintings were spiced up using fabric.

The birds and leaves in these paintings are cut out of different fabrics to give the canvases texture and a personal touch.

Amy's Bathroom

Amy has a princess bathroom for her girls and these are the three canvases that were done for her.
We added a little pizzazz to each canvas to make each one special and fun.

This crown literally sparkles with its jewels.

This glass slipper has a soft edge to it.

This princess wand has real ribbons coming out of it.

These are all fun ways to dress up any canvas or wall.

Kaitlyn's Room

Kaitlyn is a Princess, so it only seemed fitting to paint her room full of princesses.

With a total of three princesses, there was one that was BIG...

and two that were small. The smaller ones are Kaitlyn's fairy princesses.

Kaitlyn got a beautiful little flower garden to lighten up one of the corners of her room.

And, this is a simple little bush and butterfly that add to the theme.

Amy's Room

Amy liked the ladybugs that were in Hadyn's room, so we used the same idea, but customized them to fit in with her daughter's color scheme.

We added one more painting to the series...

Home and Garden Show '09

In February, Des Moines has their annual Home and Garden Show. I was able to participate one year and share a booth with Distinctive Decorating by Lisa. I got a lot of positive exposure. We were able to set up six large sample boards along with twelve 8x10 smaller samples.
These are a few of the paintings that I prepared specifically for the show.

This is a sample of what I can do for a themed wall mural. It's fun to be able to see what kind of variety you can add to any mural or painting. For this particular rocket I made custom frames to piece the mural together... giving it the puzzle effect.

Although I can paint in a variety of settings, most of my work is concentrated around children's themes and rooms. This is an example of a boy's custom canvas that can serve as the central idea for a pirate themed room either as a larger wall mural or a smaller themed canvas.

To show what kind of variety is available, this is a 3D painting of a girl's purse. It is zebra striped with customized coloring, it has a jeweld handle, a fur lining, and a few little key jangles that make it a fun piece of art.

Jackson's Room

Jackson lives in Arizona and needed some flavor on his walls. With a baseball theme, these Red Sox canvases were a fun addition.

An advantage of a canvas painting is that it can be transported easily.

Olivia's Room

Olivia's parents wanted sheep in their nursery. These paintings fit nicely into her room accentuating a sheep theme.

If a wall mural is not for you, these custom canvases are a simple way to add character to any space.

Shannon's Room

For Shannon's 13th birthday, she got this dancer silhouette painted onto her wall. The head of the dancer is actually a duplicate of Shannon's head.

One of Shannon's hobbies is dancing which inspired this mural.

Hadyn's Room

Hadyn's room has a ladybug theme. And, a child always likes to show what is theirs. With these green name squares, Hadyn is able to show everyone that this is HER room.

There are a few flowers dancing along the base of the walls. These flowers are the same as those painted in the canvases, pulling the room together.

Dancing along this green and white border are all the ladybugs providing the perfect contrast with their red and black bodies.

These two canvases were customly painted to match the room. The same green that is on the wall is in each picture. These paintings are a fun accent to the room.

This tree stands firm in one of the corners of the room automatically adding an interesting, one of a kind feeling to the room.
